When do you need to replace windshield wiper blades?
Here’s a question for you to ponder. You’re stuck in the middle of traffic, and it is crazy busy with a lot of borderline maniacal driving surrounding you. You instinctively turn on your windshield wipers, and lo and behold, they have made things so much worse. One of them makes blurry streaks out of the raindrops directly in your eyeline, and the other mostly misses the area it is supposed to cover. Perhaps you should have gotten replacement blades the last time you had your oil changed. This raises the question: When do you need to replace windshield wiper blades? (more…)

What is the Volkswagen MIB II system and App-Connect?
Smart shoppers are always looking for ways to get the best deal for their money, and one way to do this is to consider buying a used model rather than the newest option. For those comparing the 2015 model year, which likely has quite a few low-mileage options on the market, the big difference between these options and what you find in 2016 is going to center on technology. Many of the vehicles were recently redesigned, so engine options and appearances primarily remained the same, with notable exceptions for the 2016 VW Jetta and 2016 VW Passat. This being the case, you may have noticed one of the major upgrades is the MIB II infotainment system, but what is the Volkswagen MIB II system and App-Connect? (more…)

Not so long ago we wrote up a post that discussed the most common reasons a Volkswagen check engine light might be triggered, but in some ways that is the most obvious warning light. Sure, it has a variety of causes, but you can be sure there’s a whole lot of reasons the light might turn on, and it’s fairly common across automakers. It’s when something illuminates the dash and you have no idea what it means that things can be a bit trickier. Will there be a U.S. release date for the 2016 VW Golf R400?
There have been rumors milling about on the possible production of a Volkswagen Golf R400 essentially since the model was first shown nearly two years ago. Rumors gained traction, and credibility, last year as more and more sources suggested it was going into production. Many said it could happen this year. Now we’re asking the question: Will there be a U.S. release date for the 2016 VW Golf R400? (more…)
Causes and meaning of the VW check engine light
In some ways the check engine light is the most obvious one to diagnose, as far as which part it’s pointing to as a problem. You see a bright exclamation point light up your dash and you aren’t likely to identify the issue just by taking a look at the symbol (there are at least three different ones, indicating problems with brakes, the automatic transmission or the tires), but at the same time a light that suggests an engine problem is easily more terrifying. As it turns out, some of the causes of the VW check engine light aren’t always as awful as the dashboard light indicates, and the meaning behind it is varied. (more…)

If there’s one thing we like about working in our industry, it’s that there’s a constant influx of news. We won’t blame you if this doesn’t make it into your plans, and fortunately we’ve got updates here for you at the Findlay North Blog. (more…)
Volkswagen AWD cars and SUVs in Las Vegas
All-wheel drive research far too often focuses on winter driving, as if that’s the only reason why you might want a car or SUV with this type of drivetrain. Obviously in Las Vegas, shoppers aren’t likely to search for Volkswagen cars and SUVs with AWD for this reason, but there are still plenty of benefits to AWD. The point in an all-wheel drive system is to improve acceleration from a stop, which is why it’s present on performance models like the 2016 Golf R. There’s an extra feeling of “grip” overall for vehicles with all-wheel drive, and it may be seen as an essential for driving on sand, loose gravel or light mud. (more…)
